What a night of sports! It was a spectacular night for the Scribner Panthers last night! Let’s start with football….
It was a nail biter of a game. The Panthers went into halftime with a 6-0 lead over the Jaguars. During quarters three and four, it was back and forth–each team went to the wire–scoring touchdowns and ending with a 14-14 tie! Based on playoff rules, there is no overtime for playoff games. A special shout out to all of the players for a great season! It was great to Dalton Strange back on the field after his injury from last spring. Touchdowns last night by Andrew Crowdus and Jordan Treat. Add Gavin Rand and Klay Kaiser’s interceptions and it was a great game! Great job to all of the 8th graders– Seth Goodman, Ian Hubbard and others who made it happen this game.–they played their last game as Panthers–next year, you’ll be teamed up with the HMS players to be true NAHS BULLDOGS. A special shout out to 7th graders who stepped in for solid and consistent effort–Jayron Kidd, Jamal Chambers and Klay Kaiser. We look forward to being on top next year too!
Volleyball for 7th and 8th grade girls:
The last matches of the 7th grade girls were solid. Every girl played and so many scored. Great serving by Sullivan and Scharlow. Great blocking by Vaughn and spiking by Loesch (pronounced Lesh). They won in two games.
For 8th grade, the girls showed their strength on the court and fun flair prior to the game. Reese Tiesing slammed several spikes making the HMS squad scatter in fear. Every 8th grade girl gave their very best and they won in two games. A special way to end their season.
A special thanks to Coach Ms. Lilly who put her heart and soul into this short season. We appreciate you and all you do for the girls.
Congratulations to the 6th grade girls volleyball team that ended their season last night undefeated beating Hazelwood 23-25, 25-17,and 15-7.

The girls soccer team beat the Highland Hills Jaguars 2 to 1 last night in the final game of the middle school careers of 8th graders Ellie Dablow, Sophia Corley and Ella Higbie. Ella and Sophia have played every game in the history of Panther soccer. The game was especially sweet as it is the first win against Highland Hills in the four years soccer has been a sport at Scribner. The future looks good for the Scribner soccer program with 5th grade stars Avery Holder (who played every minute of every game this season), Claire Webster and Gracie Matheny expected to play the next three seasons.
