The 7th Grade Boys Basketball team was defeated by the Madison Bears last night. The Panthers got down early, but were able to cut the deficit to 13-10. Madison then turned up their pressure and never looked back. The Panthers will be back in action on Tuesday night at Highland Hills. Good luck Panthers!
The 8th grade boys also took the long bus ride to Madison to take on the Bear Cubs. The Panthers got off to a slow start trailing 10-4 at the end of the first quarter. Jakereun Sparks, sparked an 11-1 second quarter to put the Panthers up 15-11 at half. With stingy defense and Adrian Thurman as the floor general, the Panthers keep their slight lead at the end of the third, after Chase Loesch’s buzzer beater shot earning ESPN top 10 honorable mention. Bryce Sheffield poured in 7 of his game high 12 in the fourth quarter as the Panthers outscored the Bearcubs 20-7. ESPN top 10 play of the game came from Jakereun Sparks, as he blocked a three point shot attempt to stop any comeback attempt from Madison. Final score 45-28. Top scorers Bryce Sheffield with 12, Ben Seigel and Jakereun Sparks chipped in 9 and Adrian Thurman had 5. Great team win. No practice today, practice after school on Monday.
