The 7th Grade Boys Basketball team was defeated by Hazelwood last night by the score of 47 – 34. The Panthers fought hard in the second half and were able to cut the deficit to 6 points in the third quarter. The Bullpups were able to pull away in the end by knocking down some key three pointers. Cooper Anderson led the scoring effort with 10 points and Tyler McMillen contributed 6. Kadin Bush and Jamari Powell led the defensive effort. The Panthers are back in action on Monday in a game at Corydon. Good luck Panthers!
The 8th grade boys took on cross town rivals, Hazelwood last night. The Panthers started out fast taking a 13-7 lead after the first quarter. We were led by Chase Loesch 5 points. Hazelwood came back in the second quarter, but the Panthers still led 20-16. In the third quarter Bryce Sheffield heated up with three, three point shots. At the end of three it was 36-23. Good defense and rebounding held off the Bullpups. Panthers won 42-32. Great minutes off the bench from Collin Thurston and Alfonso Pena. Great Team win.
The 5th and 6th grade girls basketball teams got a split of their games at North Harrison last night. The 5th grade improved to 3-1 on the season with a 38-12 win, while the 6th grade battled to the finish before falling 16-14 at the buzzer. After playing three games on the road this week, Scribner will return home Monday evening to take on Silver Creek and hope everyone can come out and watch the Panthers knock off the Dragons!
