5th/6th Boys Basketball

The 5th grade Panthers opened their season with a victory over Hazelwood last night 24-18. Cooper Anderson and James Knox scored 5 points, Tyler Hubbard had 4 pts., Braydon Hodges – 3 pts., and Kaiden Bush- 2 pts. Great defensive effort by entire team.  The 6th grade Panthers lost to Hazelwood 25-40.  Josh Smith led Scribner scoring with 11 pts., Bryce Sheffield- 6 pts., Landon Gum-5 pts., Landon Kirk, Jaxson Enoch, and Kelan Southers added 2 pts. Both teams are back in action tonight, at home, against Highland Hills. Fifth graders should report back by 5:30 and Sixth graders should report back by 6:00.  Good luck, Panthers!

7th/ 8th Grade Girls Basketball

The 7th grade girls’ basketball team defeated rivalry Hazelwood in a defensive effort led by Jamie Gaetano. Ava Brewer led with 13 points while Alaina Walker added 8 and Kaylee DeMuth added 6. The 8th grade lost a hard fought game. Daisha Morris led with 5. They will be back in action tonight at River Valley.

Scribner Swim Team News

When you travel down the 8th grade hall do you stop and gaze at the pool door

Are you secretly dreaming of the ocean instead of reading

Do you love the sound of swimmers take your mark

Then maybe the Scribner swim team is for you!

Practice starts Monday January 22 after school until 5:30

You MUST have a physical on file, your own swim suit and be able to swim 50 yards without stopping.

Open to boys and girls 5-8 grade

Winter Soccer Training

The New Albany Boys’ Soccer Team & Coaches are holding winter training sessions for Middle School boys (5th – 8th graders) from January through March.  The training sessions are being

held at the Silver Street Indoor Facility and Hazelwood Middle School Gym.  Please pick up a flyer for additional information in the main office.

Academic Super bowl

Do you like a challenge? Are you interested in World War I? If so, come join the academic super bowl team! This year we will explore World War I through different subjects including math, science, social studies, and English.  Academic super bowl practices will begin today from 4-5 in Mrs. Orr’s classroom which is room 308.
